Ford pickup takes out fence at Oakhurst Smiles - photo by Gina ClugstonOAKHURST — Two vehicles had to be towed away after a two-car collision on Road 426 at School Road (Road 427) this afternoon.

At 12:45 p.m. a 17-year-old female from Raymond was eastbound on Road 426 in a Ford Ranger pickup when she failed to stop at the red light at Road 427, according to CHP at the scene.

A gentleman from Oakhurst, driving a 2012 Honda Accord, had the green light and was pulling out of the parking lot at the business complex on the south side of the intersection. He was unable to avoid hitting the pickup as it ran the red light, according to several witnesses.

The young driver of the Ford Ranger lost control and the pickup rolled over, coming to rest on the sidewalk and tearing out the fence in front of Dr. Adrian Bucca’s Oakhurst Smiles office.

The roadway was not blocked, and neither driver was injured.
