Construction Project Delayed On Minarets Road

NORTH FORK – Sierra National Forest engineers recently awarded a contract to repair damage to Minarets Road, also known as Mammoth Pool Road and Forest Road 4S81.

This construction project was scheduled to start today Monday Dec. 11, however, due to a delay in receiving construction materials, the contractor in coordination with Forest Engineers has rescheduled the start date.

Minarets Road will be closed beginning Monday, Dec. 18, when repair work will begin. The construction effort will take place seven days per week until the project is complete.

During the road closure, warning signs/barricades will be posted, at the Redinger Lake Overlook above North Fork, and at Clearwater Station until project completion. The road will be open to LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY from 7 to 7:30 a.m., and again from 4:30 to 5 p.m. (see map below for closure).

Visitors to the forest will still have access to their favorite areas within the Bass Lake Ranger District using Beasore Rd. (5S07) from Bass Lake.
