Community Christmas Tree Arrives At The Talking Bear

OAKHURST – The season is officially underway in Oakhurst, as the Community Christmas tree arrives at the corner of Highway 41 and Road 426.

The 60-foot white fir was harvested under a permit from the Sierra National Forest, and was donated by Sierra Tel, who transported it to its traditional site near the Talking Bear.The tree will be decorated in the coming weeks in preparation for the annual Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree Lighting celebration on Saturday, Dec. 1.

The holiday festivities will get underway at 5 p.m. with the YHS Chamber Singers & Chamber Maids singing carols, and Santa and Mrs. Claus in attendance.

Hot cider and cocoa will be provided by Gold Country Water, cookies by the Oakhurst Area Chamber of Commerce, and hot dogs served up by Century 21 Ditton Realty.
