Come Out For Star Gazing At The North Fork Rec Center

NORTH FORK – The Friends of the North Fork Library, in collaboration with the Central Valley Astronomers Club, invite the community to a Star Party sky viewing on Wednesday, July 18, at the North Fork Recreation Center starting at 8:30 p.m.

This is a free family event for all to enjoy. Picnic blankets, camping chairs and flashlights are encouraged.

The Star Party is the finale event for the North Fork Library Teen Summer Reading Program where two teen participants will be chosen to each win a Kindle Fire.

Members of the Central Valley Astronomers Club will have their amazing telescopes available for the public to view stars, planets, and other galactic elements and each astronomer will share their knowledge about the part of the sky toward which their telescope will be pointed.

The Central Valley Astronomers range from hobbyists to professionals including professors and teachers. They provide activities to help people from all walks of life learn about astronomy.
