Collision With Deer Sends 75-Year-Old Motorcyclist To Hospital Via SkyLife

COARSEGOLD — Early Saturday evening, CHP received reports of a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a deer on Highway 41 near Coarsegold.

Just after 5 p.m., CHP, Cal Fire, and EMS responded to reports of a motorcycle accident on Highway 41 involving a 75-year-old male motorcyclist who collided with a deer crossing the highway.

The collision caused the motorcyclist to lose control of his vehicle and crash.

The rider of the motorcycle was transported by ground ambulance to the landing zone at Chukchansi Casino, and then transported by SkyLife to Community Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The deer fled down the embankment and into a wooded area. It’s condition and whereabouts are currently unknown.

The accident remains under investigation.
