Coarsegold Woman Arrested In Oakhurst Embezzlement Case

OAKHURST – A Coarsegold woman has been arrested on charges of embezzling more than $40,000 from an Oakhurst business.

In November 2017, Madera County Sheriff’s detectives were contacted by the owner of Fullmer’s Appliance Repair, a local family-owned business in Oakhurst, regarding possible embezzlement.

After a lengthy investigation, Sheriff’s detectives positively identified the suspect as Heather Marie Stieler, who was employed as a bookkeeper for the business.

During the several years of her employment with Fullmer’s Appliance, records indicate that Stieler, a 46-year-old Coarsegold resident, embezzled funds amounting to $42,000, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

On Apr. 25, Stieler was arrested and booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections on felony charges related to embezzlement, forgery and grand theft.
