Coarsegold Teen Suspected In Break-ins Arrested

COARSEGOLD – A Coarsegold teenager believed to be involved in numerous break-ins in the Yosemite Lakes Park (YLP) area has been arrested, according to Sheriff John Anderson.

So far, deputies have recovered a handgun, two iPods and a computer.Anderson says the young man’s arrest is the result of collaborative efforts by CHP Sergeant Chris Finnegan and Deputy Sheriff Keith Schoettler.

At around 1 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 12, Sgt. Finnegan spotted a juvenile who appeared to match the description of a suspect involved in numerous residential break-ins in the YLP area.

Familiar with the details of the Mountain Sheriff’s Office ongoing investigation, he immediately detained the teenager and contacted the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Sheriff Keith Schoettler responded to the call, and the officers recovered the stolen property and booked the 14-year-old into Juvenile Hall.

The investigation is ongoing, and deputies say there may be more suspects involved.
