Coarsegold Man Dies In Motorcycle Crash

OAKHURST — A Coarsegold man died after striking a pickup at the intersection of Highway 41 and Road 426 this afternoon.

Just before 3:30 p.m. the 58-year-old man was northbound on Highway 41 when he failed to stop for the red light at Road 426.

A Ford F350 driven by a 23-year-old out of Oakhurst was southbound on Highway 41, making a left turn onto Road 426.

According to CHP, witnesses at the scene reported that the Harley Davidson motorcycle failed to yield to the red light, and drove into the intersection where it collided with the left front of the truck.

The driver of the motorcycle was critically injured, and was transported to the landing zone at Vons where he succumbed to his injuries. The name of the victim is not being released pending notification of relatives.

The accident remains under investigation.
