COARSEGOLD — A Coarsegold man is behind bars, accused of sexually abusing a minor.
Earlier this morning sheriff’s detectives arrested Travis Wright, 45. This arrest was the culmination of several months of investigation into crimes which occurred years earlier and were just recently reported, according to the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.
Wright is employed by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and most recently served as the Associate Warden at Central California Women’s Facility. The crimes investigated are not related to his position at the prison, says the Sheriff’s Office, and there is no evidence that Wright committed any crimes at the prison.
Wright was taken into custody without incident during a vehicle stop this morning. He was booked into the Madera County Department of Corrections for several sex related offenses and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
