OAKHURST – The community starts the season off this Saturday, Dec. 6, with Breakfast with Santa, from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center.

Guests will be greeted at the door by Father Christmas and there will be a delicious pancake breakfast. Books, provided by Sierra Tel and stuffed animals provided by The Teddy Bear Club will be given to each child.

Craft tables will be ready with fun things to make, and of course, there will be a visit and pictures with Santa. This event is generously sponsored by the Kiwanis of the Sierra. Adults are $6, children 6-12 are $3, and children 5 and under free.

Also on Saturday, Dec. 6, following the Breakfast with Santa Event, the Children’s Museum of the Sierra will be having Children’s Secret Shopping from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Birthday Room at the Children’s Museum will be transformed into a Christmas Shopping room where children can “buy” and wrap gifts with Museum dollars.

Children’s Secret Shopping is free with admission or Museum Membership. For information please call the Children’s Museum at 559-658-5656.

Then at 5 p.m., everyone is invited to the lighting of the Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree in front of the Talking Bear at the corner of Highway 41 and Road 426.
