Annual Christmas Boutique Is Locally Handcrafted

Submitted by Linda Aube

OAKHURST – Christ Church Women are delighted to announce their 13th Annual Christmas Boutique is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at ECCO, the Evergreen Conference Center, Oakhurst.

In addition to exquisitely handcrafted wooden items such as Nativity sets, tea boxes, wine and recipe boxes, some hand painted by a local artist Phyllis McAdams, there will be linens, knitted items, Christmas décor and gobs of exciting gifts and food items, including our famous Mountain Mustard.

And, wait until you see our glamorous, chic and totally washable shopping bags!

Among the many treasures included in the optional Raffle is a hand-carved Noah’s Ark complete with two-by-two animals carved from exotic tropical woods.

This sale is unique in that the talented men and women of Christ Church Anglican make every item. We do not resell anyone else’s work. In addition, all proceeds benefit our community organizations such as Boys & Girls Club, Manna House, Boys Scouts, the Senior Center and Toys for Tots.

Lunch will be served upstairs between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Presale lunch ticket price is $6, or $7.50 at the door. Seating is limited.

Diane Duersen calls the talented volunteers she leads her “Christmas Engineers.” Among the many feats of genius these engineers pull off is the bake sale part of the Boutique, which includes super-fresh variety packages of homemade cookies. Diane explained the cookies are so fresh they can go right in the freezer and later be defrosted for Christmas. The homemade variety packs include two each of about eight different kids,

Some of the local artists will be on site at the Boutique that day. For more information and to reserve lunch tickets call Diane Van Duersen at (559) 877-6401
