CHP Seeks Public’s Help In Motorcycle Crash Investigation

COARSEGOLD — The Oakhurst Area CHP Office is searching for any witnesses who may have observed what happened leading up a motorcycle vs. car crash on Road 415 yesterday near the Oak Creek Mobile Home Park.

Kawasaki motorcycle - photo courtesy CHPAt about 5:20 p.m., Ramiro Guzman III, 40, of Coarsegold, was riding his 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Road 415 at an unknown rate of speed.

Kevin Kliegl, 59, also of Coarsegold, in a 2013 Hyundai, was making a left turn onto Road 415 from the Oak Creek Mobile Home Park.

As Kliegl was making his turn, he observed the motorcycle coming towards him and tried to accelerate in an attempt to avoid a collision, but the motorcycle collided with the left front of the Hyundai, according to CHP.

2013 Hyundai in Road 415 wreck - photo courtesy CHPAs a result of the traffic collision, Guzman was ejected from the motorcycle and sustained major injuries. He was transported by SkyLife air ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.

Kliegl was not injured in the collision.
