CHP Brings Holiday Cheer To Dozens Of Senior Citizens

OAKHURST – Dozens of our local “seasoned citizens” were blessed with Christmas gifts as the Oakhurst Area CHP held their second annual “Be a Santa to a Senior” event.

The CHP office has been gathering and wrapping gifts for the past few weeks and on Tuesday they brightened the holidays for dozens of seniors at Oakhurst Healthcare & Wellness Centre and Oakhurst Board & Care for the Elderly.

Joined by members of the community, CHP Commander Craig Hinch, CHP Maintenance Worker Shannon Castonguay, CHP Senior Volunteers Gayle Studt and Franci Pasley, and Officers Luis Lugo and Jeremy Buttgereit delivered 70 gifts to residents at the two local facilities.

The gifts were donated by caring citizens of Eastern Madera County and included such items as blankets, socks, slippers and robes, art supplies and puzzles.

Other members of the community who participated in this event were:
