Child Molester Gets 145 Years

MADERA COUNTY – On Sept. 23, the Madera County Superior Court sentenced Salomon Montejano, 38, of Madera, to a lengthy prison term for eleven counts of felony molestation of a child under 14 years of age, according to Michael R. Keitz, District Attorney for Madera County.

Evidence presented at trial established that Montejano began molesting his victim when the child was of very early age.

The molestation continued until the victim was twelve years old and came forward to report the defendant’s conduct.

Madera Police Department detectives served a search warrant on Montejano and discovered much evidence of his molestation of the victim.

Montejano was convicted by a Madera County jury on Aug. 4. On Sept. 23, the Superior Court sentenced Montejano to 145 years to life in state prison.

“This man’s crimes are a travesty,” said District Attorney Keitz. “Hopefully, his sentence will bring closure for the victim in this case, and it will prevent him from harming anyone in the future.”
