Treasured son, father, grandfather and friend Michael Mitchell, Sr. passed away peacefully on Mar. 4 in Oakhurst. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Born Mar. 15, 1950 in Mill Valley, Calif., Mike moved to the Sierra Nevada foothills in 1985. His passions always involved being outdoors in nature, and included hunting and shooting, skills he gladly passed along to his boys.
Mike began cutting hair locally in 1986 and opened Mike’s Barber Shop in 2011. He had a great appreciation for his customers at the shop and all the friends he made along his journey.
Survived by his father Fred Mitchell, sister Elizabeth Weber, sons Michael Mitchell, Jr. and Matthew Mitchell, Mike also leaves behind grandchildren Kayla Mitchell, Autumn Mitchell and Brenton Mitchell.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Michael Mitchell, Sr. at Sun Mountain Gun Club on Sunday, Mar. 17 at 2 p.m.
