Celebration of Life for Eva Stallsworth

Eva Marie (Hermansen) Stallsworth passed away on July  20, 2021, three months before her 101st birthday. She was born October 27, 1920, in the village of Peters, Nebraska, to Victor E. Hermansen and Agnes E. (Johnson) Hermansen.

Her younger years were spent on a small farm in Hay Springs, Nebraska. The oldest of five children, and the only girl, she was raised to work hard, play hard, and pray hard. She graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1939 and went to nursing school at Eben Ezer Sanitarium in Brush, Colorado. It was while working at the sanitarium that she met her future husband, Merle V. Stallsworth, while caring for his mother. Nursing was her beloved career.

Eva and Merle married and started raising a family. They had three children: James (Jim), Judith (Judy), and Deanna (Dee). The family lived in close proximity to each other through the years.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Agnes; her brothers, Robert, Lloyd, Donald and Thomas; her son, Jim in 1985, and husband Merle in 1986. Eva is survived by daughters, Judy (Paul) Caletti, Dee (Bruce) Triebold; grandchildren Scherie Williamson (Mark Garcia) and Stacie (Robert) Bassi, Brian (Kim) Triebold, Craig (Leslie) Triebold; and great-grandchildren James Williamson, Logan Bassi, Stella Triebold, Lochlan Triebold, and Jade Rose Triebold.

Through the years, Eva travelled for fun and relaxation, going to Hawaii, Las Vegas, Europe, and visiting friends in many of the 50 states. She loved working in the garden.

There will be a private family interment at a future date.

Memorial donations can be made to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
