OAKHURST — On October 12, 2018, Carl Eugene Chartier, 69, peacefully left Earth for his place within the stars.
Carl was born September 25, 1949 in Kankakee, Illinois. After serving in the Air Force, he moved to Oakhurst, where he worked for Andrew’s Electric for 30 years as an electrician.
In 2002, Carl met Cheryce when they became neighbors. They married in 2006 and had a close, loving relationship until his passing.
Carl collected O scale model trains, something he had enjoyed since childhood. He was fond of science fiction, and non-fiction history and science documentaries, pc games, his wife’s spaghetti, and fried chicken. He gave love as much as he received it. He had a huge heart for his community.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryce Chartier, and children, Richard Chartier, Sherri Chartier, Kasarah Fuller, Krystal Singh, Kamilia Worthy, and Maria Gonzalez and his beloved cat, Quigley.
A Celebration of Carl’s Life will take place on Saturday, November 3, at the Golden Chain Theatre in Oakhurst from 1 – 3 p.m.
This is a potluck gathering; if you plan to attend please bring a dish to share.
