Cause Of Bridge Fire Announced

MARIPOSA COUNTY – Cal Fire has announced that the the 300 acre Bridge Fire that began on Sept. 5 was caused by a vehicle. There are no further details at this time. Cal Fire spokesperson Karen Guillemin reminds all motorists to keep their equipment in proper working order, as we are still experiencing hot and dry conditions in the wildlands and ignition probability is very high.

The Bridge Fire is now 85% contained. There are currently no road closures or evacuations in the area. Outside the control lines, areas are being closely monitored for any new spot fires. Crews will continue mopping up and looking for hot spots within containment lines. Interior portions of the fire will continue to burn and may produce smoke.

The Sheriff is asking all motorists traveling through the area to please drive slowly as there are still fire crews, contractors, and equipment on the scene.

Remember, “One less spark, one less wildfire.”
