Campgrounds Open Above Sky Ranch

OAKHURST – While Sky Ranch Road (Road 632) is still closed due to fire equipment, fire crews and the danger of falling trees from the Sky Fire, the campgrounds higher up are open. Those wishing to travel to Soquel, Nelder Grove, Texas Flat, Grey’s Mountain or any of the other campgrouds can get there from Beasore Road or Sugar Pine.

Activity On Sky Fire Winding Down

OAKHURST – The 500-acre Sky Fire is now 90 percent contained, and the number of personnel assigned to the incident has been reduced to 520. Today crews will continue fire line suppression repair and mop-up on all parts of the fire. Resource Advisors from the Forest Service have identified the extent of suppression repair needed.

OAKHURST – The Sky Fire, burning along Road 632 north of Oakhurst, is holding at 500 acres with 30 percent containment. Crews made good progress today, keeping the fire inside containment lines and working on hot spots. There are still 200 structures threatened, though none has been lost.

Oakhurst Woman Arrested for Identity Theft

OAKHURST – On Wednesday, sheriff’s deputies arrested 36-year-old Krystal McNally and served a search warrant on her apartment on Red Bud Drive in Oakhurst. This operation was the culmination of several weeks of investigation initiated after a residential burglary in Oakhurst where checks, credit cards, photo ID, a vehicle, and power tools were stolen.
