Fishing For Cash At Yosemite Bank

OAKHURST – Two bags with a string attached were discovered inside a bank’s deposit drop box in Oakhurst Monday morning. According to Yosemite Bank, sometime between July 5 and July 8, someone tried to steal money bags from the bank’s night deposit drop box using a string, says the Madera County Sheriff’s Office.

Single Vehicle Accident Blocks Highway 41

MADERA COUNTY – A pickup truck overturned on Highway 41 early Sunday morning blocking both lanes and tying up traffic for about two hours. Cal Fire, Madera EMS and CHP responded to the accident. The driver sustained only minor injuries and no other vehicles were involved.

MADERA – Accused arson suspects Kenneth Jackson and Alice Waterman appeared in Madera Superior Court this morning, facing charges in connection with a string of suspicious fires in the Yosemite Lakes Park area. FISH CAMP – An single-vehicle accident on Highway 41 on Monday, July 1, caused brief closures just north of Road 630. Didier Gerbi, 47, of Oakhurst, was driving his 2006 Chevy HHR southbound on Highway 41 when he apparently entered a corner at too high a rate of speed.
