Manhunt Causes Lockdown At Coarsegold Elementary

COARSEGOLD – The Coarsegold school was locked down this afternoon from shortly after 3 p.m. until about 4:45 p.m. while a manhunt was underway for George Walter Rosenberg, 41, of Mariposa. Rosenberg was wanted on a no bail warrant for narcotics charges when a deputy spotted his vehicle in the Coarsegold area near Road 415, and attempted to make contact.

Oakhurst Women Plead Guilty To Attempted Carjacking

MADERA – Jessica Tancredi, 18, and Channa Hammond, 18, both of Oakhurst, pled guilty yesterday, Jan. 17, to felony attempted carjacking with special allegations for using deadly weapons. Tancredi also pled guilty to felonious assault with a deadly weapon, according to Madera County District Attorney Michael R. Keitz.

MADERA COUNTY – A Madera County Superior Court jury took less than 20 minutes on Wednesday, Jan. 16, to find Tad Patrick Moore, 49, guilty of two felony counts of arson, and an additional misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, according to Madera County District Attorney Michael R. Drunk Driver Gets 35 Years To Life

MADERA – A drunk driver who killed two Madera women and seriously injured another passenger, was sentenced today to 35 years to life in state prison. Richard Farias, 57, of Madera, was sentenced on Wednesday, Jan.16, for his conviction on two felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, and a separate felony count of driving under the influence and injuring another.
