MADERA COUNTY – After many contentious months on the campaign trail, Oakhurst attorney David Linn has defeated incumbent Michael Keitz in the race for Madera County District Attorney, garnering 58 percent of the vote. In another important contest, Chowchilla Police Chief Jay Varney will become the next Sheriff, beating out Undersheriff Michael Salvador. Varney also won by 58 percent.

Burn Projects Start On Sierra National Forest

Sheriff's Office Breaks Ground On New Facility

MADERA – For the first time in the history of the Madera County Sheriff’s Office, they will have a dedicated Emergency Operations Center, and all departments will be housed under one roof.
