OAKJURST – Board-certified cardiologist Hardik Patel, MD, has joined the medical staff at Adventist Health Medical Office in Oakhurst, as well as Fowler and Selma.
Patel specializes in general cardiology and cardiovascular disease. He provides diagnosis and treatment for patients with a wide range of cardiac conditions, including coronary artery disease, vascular heart disease, arrhythmias (arterial fibrillation) along with preventative cardiology to evaluate and treat risk factors such as hypertension.
“I was drawn to cardiology because it allows me to serve patients in a wide variety of ways ranging from primary, acute and procedural care,” he said. “This often results in an immediate and vast improvement in patients’ lives.”
Patel earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. He completed his residency training in internal medicine at the University of Nevada in Reno and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease at Ascension Providence in Southfield, Michigan.
He was recognized throughout his education and training for his leadership and achievements.
“I am extremely hardworking, compassionate and conscientious – after all, my name ‘Hardik’, in my native language Gujarati, means ‘from the heart,’” he said.
Patel is board-certified in internal medicine, echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, cardiovascular computed tomography and cardiology and cardiovascular disease. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Physicians, American College of Cardiology and Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography. He also is fluent in English, Hindi and Gujarati.
When not caring for patients, Patel enjoys spending time with his wife, family and friends. Other interests include the outdoors, sports and rooting for the Sacramento Kings.
