OAKHURST – Home to events including official elections, SRO bingo and emergency services response, the Oakhurst Community Center (OCC) pulses with the heartbeat of its town.
This Friday, Feb. 27, Mountain Community Women (MCW) invite all interested parties to support the community center in a fun way: they’re hosting a Mardi Gras-themed Card Party and Luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Oakhurst Community Center.
“Play your favorite game, not just cards,” say organizers. Need a partner? Let them know. “Don’t want to play? Join for lunch only.” Donation is $12. Proceeds benefit OCC. For information and tickets call (559) 683-3938.
MCW is an organization dedicated to raising funds in support of the Oakhurst Community Center, a gathering place used for social, educational and recreational purposes. OCC is supported entirely by the community.
In addition to raising funds, MCW holds monthly meetings which include social time and programs of interest to all. MCW is a public charity under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code and is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers and gifts. The next General Meeting for MCW is Monday, Mar. 2 at the Oakhurst Community Center, 9:30 a.m. for the social, and the meeting starts at 10 a.m.
