Car Passenger Shot On Highway 41

ROLLING HILLS — On Monday, July 27, 2020, at approximately 3:24 a.m., California Highway Patrol unit was on an enforcement stop on southbound SR-41 at Ave. 12, conducting a possible DUI investigation. At that time, a passing motorist stopped and advised the officer that his passenger had just been shot by the occupant of another vehicle. The CHP officers immediately advised Dispatch of their situation, requested an ambulance, and began first aid procedures.

The victim was transported via ground ambulance to Community Regional Medical Center. Injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

The suspect vehicle was described as possibly a silver pick-up truck, last seen southbound on SR-41 from Ave. 12.

Update: California Highway Patrol Central Division Investigative Services Unit have charged 27-year-old Madera Ranchos resident Dylan Colby Nichols Dobbs in the drive by shooting incident. In an unrelated investigation the MCSO has booked Dobbs into the Madera County Department of Corrections on felony human trafficking charges.
