Campaign For Families Of Those Lost In SkyLife Tragedy

CENTRAL CALIFORNIA — Anyone wishing to support the families of the SkyLife crew that was lost last week in a tragic accident, can do so by donating to a YouCaring fund that has been set up by their colleagues.

On Thursday, Dec. 10, Skylife H4, a medical helicopter based out of Visalia, Calif., was on an emergency flight from Porterville to Bakersfield.

Shortly after the helicopter departed Porterville, an unknown catastrophic event occurred outside McFarland, Calif. This resulted in the tragic loss of all personnel on board the helicopter, and the critical patient they were transporting.

The crew members onboard were Pilot Thomas Hampl, age 49; Flight Nurse Marco Lopez, age 42; and Flight Paramedic Kyle Juarez, age 37. These men were a part of a large and closely-knit work family that covers the Greater Central Valley of California, including the Central Sierra mountain area. They will be greatly missed and are loved by many.

“We as colleagues created this page with the goal to raise funds for the families left behind by these three honorable heroes who ultimately sacrificed their lives doing what they loved to do,” says the funding page. “Any donation that can be offered to help these families deal with the loss of their loved ones would be greatly appreciated. Especially during this Holiday season.”

We will post information about any fundraising platform for the family of the patient who lost her life in this accident if it becomes available.
