Calvin Crest Conferences Hosts Fall Crest Fest

OAKHURST — Calvin Crest Conferences invites people of all ages to this free, family-friendly event on Nov. 9. The day will kick off at 10:30 a.m. with a 5k trail run through the beautiful grounds that lie in the heart of the Sierra National Forest.

From 1:30 to 8 p.m., people can enjoy live music by Yosemite Jazz Band and other local artists. There will also be an aerial adventure course, giant swing, zipline, hayrides, lawn games, apple cider press and a rustic painting workshop.

This event will also feature a chili cook-off and homemade pie auction, followed by an evening campfire with music by Calvin Crest alumni and Rivergold Elementary School teacher Sylvia Sloas.

“We are hoping this becomes an annual event where the whole family can enjoy a beautiful fall day at Calvin Crest,” said Tiffany Staman, executive director. “We want this space to be enjoyed by the community as well as campers, alumni, and donors.”

Sponsors of this event include Coldwell Banker, Alphagraphics, Wild Fig Kitchen, Macaulay Insurance, Mountain Muscle, London Properties, Steve’s Pet Shop, and Bryant’s True Value.

While the event has free admission, the proceeds from the 5k, pie auction and any donations received will go directly to Calvin Crest.

Calvin Crest Conferences is funded through generous donations of churches and individuals and does not receive any state or federal funding.

Registration for the 5k is $30 and includes an event t-shirt.
