Caltrans Crews Stripe 41 North Of Oakhurst

OAKHURST — Motorists should continue to be on the lookout for crews who will be painting new striping on a portion of State Route 41 just north of Oakhurst, as well as north of Road 222, the turnoff to Bass Lake.

Department of Transportation (Caltrans) spokesman Cory Burkarth said today that the road painting that began on Tuesday, June 21 will continue on Thursday, June 23.

“Our striping crew just wrapped up a maintenance project on State Route 41 between Coarsegold and Oakhurst, and identified some additional areas that need work north of Oakhurst.” Burkarth explains.

“The work needs to take place during the day so that the striping material can stick to the roadway, and it’s best for our striping crew to perform that work when there aren’t shadows on the roadway.”

Burkarth says Caltrans is again asking motorists to be aware of this work taking place on Thursday, and to drive safely through the area.

“We appreciate the community’s patience while Caltrans performs these maintenance projects in the area and remind motorists to be Work Zone Alert.”

Sometime early next month, Caltrans is planning some additional painting on State Route 49 in Oakhurst, and we’ll update on that when specifics become available.
