Caller Impersonating Madera Sheriff Sergeant, It’s A Scam

MADERA COUNTY – The Madera County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens about a man who has been making phone calls to residents throughout the county impersonating a sheriff’s sergeant regarding outstanding warrants.

This is a scam! The Sheriff’s Office will never request funds or personal identifying information over the phone.

If you receive a phone call of this nature, please contact Madera County Sheriff’s dispatch at 559-675-7770.

Based on the information provided to the Sheriff’s Office, the man identifies himself as Madera County Sheriff’s Sergeant Mike Pace. The scammer makes phone calls from a 559 area code, and has a voicemail set up at the return number with the same identifying information.

If you are contacted by this man, do not provide ANY information to him, and please immediately contact the Sheriff’s Office directly.
