CALIFORNIA – Oct. 30, 2020 – Over 5,400 firefighters continue to battle 22 wildfires in California. Yesterday, firefighters responded to nearly two dozen new wildfires, all of which were quickly contained. More favorable weather continues will aid firefighters in their efforts towards containment of the on-going wildfires.
Weather in Northern California will continue to be warm and very dry, with locally breezy winds Friday afternoon. In Southern California, there will be very little change in the weather through Saturday. Local north to northeast winds of 10 to 20 mph with gusts to 35 mph will surface across the mountains and canyons.
Temperatures will remain 5 to 10 degrees above normal through Saturday.
Even though November is right around the corner, fire danger remains high. CAL FIRE is urging all Californians to not only be prepared, but to ensure that they take actions to prevent sparking a new wildfire.
Even household powered equipment like weed trimmers and lawn mowers can spark a fire if not used carefully. The public is urged not to let their guard down.
