David Simpson, Simpson Designs,  has been in the local mountain community for over thirty years, with a background in residential and commercial planning and architectural design for ground up construction, remodel projects and room additions, providing documents for the permit process.

Early design and architectural work was with Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill Architects, San Francisco, on projects such as the Levi Strauss headquarters and the Metropolitan Life Insurance headquarters, then relocating back to the San Joaquin Valley as part of the oldest architectural firm in Fresno working on various school, municipal, and hospital facilities, and shortly thereafter built his first home in Coarsegold.

Fast forward the past several years, residing and working in Oakhurst, Simpson Designs has provided design services for commercial projects including Ponderosa Telephone remodel, Best Western Yosemite Gateway Inn remodel, the original development of  the Oakhurst Government Center -- Sheriff Substation, along with the design and development of custom residences and various residential remodel projects.

There are always many questions when an owner undertakes a project, whether it's ground up original design documents that are needed or documents for remodel or addition to an existing structure, and many  things to consider living in the mountains often with projects for older structures.
