OAKHURST — Two people entered Denny’s restaurant in Oakhurst early Monday morning but they weren’t there for the Grand Slam breakfast.
According to a report from the Madera County Sheriff’s Department, the burglars apparently had some help getting inside the closed eatery when they entered at 6:22 a.m.
“It appears to be an inside job, as the door to gain access was unlocked and the suspects had a specific intent,” said a release issued by MCSO.According to investigators, four of the restaurant’s registers were punched out using a driver drill and $400 in cash and “various bottles of condiments” were stolen.
MCSO released surveillance photos of the two mask-wearing suspects and their get-away vehicle, a Honda or Acura four door sedan with mismatched rims. “The front passenger wheel is either a ‘donut style’ spare or a black rim, while the rest are low-profile, after-market rims,” said the MCSO report.
One suspect wore a red San Francisco 49’ers hoodie and the other a black hoodie.
