Wildland Fire Sparks Saturday Near North Fork

NORTH FORK — A fast-moving wildland fire is burning near Reddinger Lake outside of North Fork.

The fire sparked Saturday evening and so far has scorched about 100 acres as it moves up the hillside toward Corrine Lake Road.

A mandatory evacuation order has been issued for Corinne Lake Road between Road 235 and Road 222 as well as Carmen Ranch Road and Box Canyon Road.

Two aerial tankers have been dumping fire retardant over the fire while firefighting crews from Madera County and Fresno County work to contain the blaze.

The fire reportedly started along Road 222 four or five miles below Road 200 near Powerhouse 1, according to witness accounts.
