Section of Hwy 140 to Close Sunday in Advance of Expected Storm

MARIPOSA — Yosemite National Park officials together with the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office announced this morning that Highway 140 near the Ferguson Fire burn scar will close today at 12:30 pm.

Authorities said the road would “be closed west of Yosemite National Park from the top of Briceburg Grade to Cedar Lodge.”

This preemptive closure is due to heavy rain fall and debris flow predicted in the area.

“This is a hard closure, NO traffic will be allowed in,” said the release issued Sunday morning.
