Breakfast With Santa And Children’s Secret Gift Store

OAKHURST – It’s going to be difficult to contain the excitement on Saturday, Dec. 2, as a trio of holiday events have the jolly one very busy around town.

For starters, kids and their grown-ups are invited to attend Breakfast with Santa at the Community Center, followed by Secret Santa Shopping at the Children’s Museum of the Sierra and, finally, wrapping up the day with the Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree Lighting and festivities.

Also on Saturday, Dec. 2, the Children’s Museum of the Sierra will be having children’s Secret Santa Shopping from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., as the Birthday Room at the Children’s Museum is transformed into a Christmas shopping room where children can “buy” and wrap gifts (with a little help) with free Museum dollars.

Children’s Secret Shopping is free with admission or Museum Membership. Attendance at Breakfast with Santa is not required. For information please call the Children’s Museum at (559) 658-5656.

Maybe there’s time for a nap before families return to town at 4 p.m. for the spectacular lighting of the Oakhurst Community Christmas Tree in front of the Talking Bear at the corner of Highway 41 and Road 426.

Those who attend this free community event will be treated to Christmas carols and have the chance for pine cone decorating.

Food and drink will be available, including hot cocoa, hot cider, coffee, cookies, hot dogs, and kettle corn. There’s a bounce house to keep kids happy all night, especially considering Santa and Mrs. Claus will be back for a visit, and free photos.

Sponsors for the Oakhurst Christmas Tree Lighting include Century 21 Ditton Realty and Sierra Tel, along with McGoldrick & McGoldrick Attorneys at Law.
