Black Belt Ceremony And Demonstration

MARIPOSA – The public is invited to a demonstration show and ceremony put on by the 2014 Black Belt Graduates of the Mariposa Martial Arts Academy, on Friday, June 20.

The action will take place at the Mariposa County High School (MCHS) Fiester Auditorium, starting at 6 p.m. The cost to attend is $5.

Featured in the program are Tiny Tigers, Kids, Teens and Adults, who will all come together to produce an entertaining evening that demonstrates their enviable talents.

Fifteen black belt candidates from Mariposa Martial Arts Academy (MMAA) passed their final phase test on Friday, May 30. They began their black belt journey in September of last year. Along the way, they were said to have encountered and overcome numerous challenges to achieve the rank of black belt.

Organizers say the mission of MMAA is to develop the best, most well-rounded martial artists, by means of physical, mental, and overall character development. The goal is to increase the understanding of martial arts and community in students, families and team members.
