Big Creek Fire Quickly to 2000 Acres

Creek Fire Updates

The Creek Fire has triggered an Evacuation Warning for all visitors and residents of Shaver Lake, as far south as Littlefield Road off of Hwy. 168. This is in addition to all of the evacuations below. 

Access to Shaver Lake is completely closed to the public due to the Creek Fire. This includes Camp Edison and North Shore. No one is being allowed up past the 4 lane on east bound Hwy. 168 past Prather. 

Evacuation orders have been issued to residents near Camp Sierra, Big Creek and Huntington Lake areas due to the fast spreading Creek Fire. All visitors are urged to leave now to minimize traffic jams on Hwy. 168

BIG CREEK – A wild land fire that started near Camp Sierra Road and Reddin Road, northeast of Shaver Lake near Big Creek on Friday Sept. 4 has quickly spread to 2,000 acres due to the hot and dry weather conditions and rough terrain.

Dubbed the Creek Fire both Cal Fire and Sierra National Forest have created a unified command.

Hwy 168 at Auberry Road in Pine Ridge has been closed to through traffic. It is advised for motorists heading to the area find alternative routes.
