Benefit for Detwiler Recovery At Music On The Green

MARIPOSA — Lifting Mariposa back to its vibrant self, Music on the Green returns this weekend with Before Perils and Saltwater, and both concerts are, as always, free. Everyone is invited to bring chairs and blankets, and relax with friends, family and neighbors to the sounds of fresh music at the Mariposa Art Park.

On Friday, July 28, the Mariposa County Arts Council presents Before Perils, a four-member band from Fresno that “takes acoustic music to a new realm, blending original cross-fusion styles into a refined, powerful, and beautiful sound.”

Saturday, July 29, the Yosemite Mariposa County Tourism Bureau sponsors the Fresno band Saltwater for a special appearance as the community celebrates strength, resilience and the heroism of emergency response teams. All donations and tips collected will be given to the Mariposa Community Foundation for Detwiler Relief.

“Saltwater produces a sound that’s solidly their own from bluegrass to rockabilly, from jam band to shoegazing,” say organizers at the arts council. “We’re thankful for their support and look forward to their special Music on the Green debut.”

Both shows start at 7 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come out and enjoy the evening air and free live music. Cards of thanks are welcome to show firefighters and emergency personnel how much their efforts are appreciated.
