Benefit BBQ For Mariposa Deputy Mirelez & Family

Mariposa Deputy Rudy Mirelez BBQ OCt 24 2015MARIPOSA – “Come out and show your support for a local deputy who put his life on the line to help serve and protect this community,” say organizers of a BBQ Benefit Dinner in support of Mariposa County Sheriff’s Deputy Rudy Mirelez and his family. Deputy Mirelez, a 10-year veteran, was shot during a traffic stop in the early morning on Thursday, Oct. 1. Deputy Mirelez remains hospitalized in Modesto where he is expected to undergo many surgeries on his road to recovery, according to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Rudy MirelezThe BBQ Benefit Dinner for the Mirelez family is set for Saturday, Oct. 24 at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds in Building A. Doors open for viewing of the silent auction at 5 p.m., and dinner starts at 6 p.m. In addition to the silent auction, guests will enjoy dinner, dessert, and live music. The cost for adults is $20, kids dinner is $10 per child. A “To-Go” option is available if you’re on the move.

Tickets for the BBQ Benefit can be purchased in Mariposa at the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office, Pony Expresso, Fremont House, Mariposa Safe Families, Tap Room, and Bootjack Market and Deli. In Greeley Hill, tickets are available at Sheriff’s Office Station 1. In Oakhurst, get your tickets at Hoof ‘n Paw Vet.
