Become A Madera County Master Gardener

MADERA – Madera County Master Gardeners invite you to an informational meeting about how to become a Master Gardener on Thursday, Sept. 19, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Madera Community College Center.

Participants can meet Master Gardeners, learn about our public service activities, and obtain information about the four-month certification program which begins in January, 2014.

Applications for the training program are due on or before Monday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m. Applications are available on the Master Gardener website noted below.

Master Gardeners are involved in a wide range of community-centered activities including providing home gardening and landscaping advice, offering public workshops, and staffing a telephone hotline and information booths at local events.

Master Gardener logo - UCMaster Gardeners also host the yearly Madera Glorious Gardens Tour, and are developing the Three Sisters Garden, a demonstration garden at the Madera Community College Center serving as an educational center for best gardening practices for our area.

Madera Community College is located at 30277 Avenue 12, Room 3-A (located in the last row of classrooms at the back of the campus). Free parking is available in Lot C.
