Beasore Rd Work Set to Begin; Chiquito Bridge to be Replaced

MOUNTAIN AREA — Construction work on Beasore Road above Bass Lake will begin on Wednesday (June 10), with paving planned to take place on the road beginning approximately one mile past the Upper Chiquito Bridge.

Motorists can expect up to two-hour traffic delays during the project — “and a lot of construction equipment traffic traveling along Beasore Road,” said a press release issued late this week by Sierra National Forest officials.

There will be no parking allowed on the shoulders and various pullouts during the construction period.

This paving work is expected to last approximately two weeks.

Then, on June 29, work is scheduled to begin on the replacement of the Upper Chiquito Bridge. The bridge is located about 21 miles north of Bass Lake.

During this phase of construction, starting at the Upper Chiquito Bridge, Beasore Road will not be passable for approximately 120 days so the use of alternate routes during this period will be necessary.

All drivers are reminded to obey all traffic laws and speed limits in the designated construction zones. Construction and traffic signs will posted accordingly.

For more information on this project and alternate routes through the forest please contact the Bass Lake Ranger District at 559-877-2218.
