OAKHURST — One Oakhurst dentist has chosen to combine his services with a major way to honor our veterans — helping make it possible for them to be part of Honor Flight.
Honor Flight is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing WWII veterans with honor and closure, transporting them to Washington, D.C. to visit their memorials.
“They all deserve this one last opportunity to visit America’s ‘Thank You,'” says Michael Horasanian, D.D.S.
On Saturday, May, 21, from noon to 3 p.m., Dr. Horasanian and his staff will be hosting a free community BBQ at their office to honor the veterans and allow them to submit applications to be part of Honor Flight. There will be BBQ tri-tip, music, a raising of the flag, and a day of celebration of our veterans’ service. The director of Honor Flight will also be in attendance, and the public is encouraged to stop in and show their appreciation for our veterans at this free event.
According to the Honor Flight website, “Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.
“Of all of the wars in recent memory, it was World War II that truly threatened our very existence as a nation—and as a culturally diverse, free society. According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, an estimated 640 WWII veterans die each day. Our time to express our thanks to these brave men and women is running out.”
People will also have a $100 tax deductible donation made in their name to Honor Flight when they take advantage of a special offer from Dr. Horasanian through the end of May. For new clients having their teeth straighten with Invisalign, they will receive $500 off their services, with $400 as a direct savings to the patient, and a $100 tax deductible donation in their name to Honor Flight.
Call today with any questions about Honor Flight or the BBQ, a free consultation for Invisalign and finance options, and speak to Taryn at 559-683-4691.
