BASS LAKE – Keep Our Mountains Beautiful (KOMB) organizers plan to tidy up a long section of Bass Lake Road on Saturday, Sept. 12 from 8 a.m. to noon. The clean-up will take place from the intersection of Road 222 and Highway 41, all the way to the Pines Resort and possibly more, depending on the number of people who turnout.

Anyone who wants to help is asked to meet at the parking lot of the old Mountain House restaurant at the intersection Road 222 and Highway 41.

Organizers point out that any contribution of time spent is valuable.

Among those who regularly participate in the events are members of local Boy Scout Tropp 357, led by Scoutmaster Dave Smith.

“The troop helps with the road cleanup twice a year,” says Smith. “Part of Scouting is providing a service to the local community.” The last clean-up was in May.
