Bass Lake Home Tour

BASS LAKE — If you’ve ever looked longingly at a beautiful lakeside home and wanted a closer view, and even a peek inside, now is your chance to participate in a self-guided tour that benefits a local nonprofit organization.

The 10th Annual Bass Lake Home Tour will take place on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by the Bass Lake Lions Club in conjunction with Bass Lake Realty. Proceeds from this year’s tour will benefit a deserving mountain area non-profit organization.

Last year’s tour was cancelled because the lake was low and homeowners wanted to present their domiciles in a better environment. This time around, they got what they asked for: the lake is full and beautiful.

Several custom homes will be graciously offered for touring by their owners. Self-guided tours will begin in The Pines Village at Bass Lake beside the Bass Lake Realty office.  The Lions Club will prepare and serve a delicious hamburger lunch, included in the price, available for tour participants from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

New to the tour this year is the home of Jerry and Louise Houlding who have owned their historical lake front property since 2013.  Originally built in the 1950s, the Houldings are enjoying the work local artisans have accomplished to bring this piece of history to life again.

The Houldings added a garage and bonus room while totally restoring and remodeling the structure. The living room ceiling and fireplace is original, and reminiscent of the ceiling at the old Ducey’s Lodge. The house features four bedrooms and three baths in the main house for a total of over 4,500 square feet. The lower level beach house sports one bedroom and bath, where the family takes the beautiful stairs to the lake from the back patio.

Advance ticket purchase for the Bass Lake Home Tour is $20 per person, adults only, and $25 per person on the day of the event. Tickets are available from any Bass Lake Lions Club member or Bass Lake Realty office in The Pines Village.
