Bass Lake Block Party Celebrates Water, Finally!

BASS LAKE — Bass Lake is about to burst with activity as businesses host a day of open houses and celebration around the lake on Saturday, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

All the local lake businesses are expected to have specials and fun activities scheduled. It’s the first time the lake has been full of water for years and this is reason to celebrate all that nature has given us this year.

As all locals and many visitors already know about this favorite central California getaway, Bass Lake is less than an hour north of Fresno and only 20 minutes from Yosemite’s southern entrance. With sparkling blue water and scenic views of the surrounding Sierra Nevada and Sierra National Forest, Bass Lake is a host to abundant recreational opportunities on and off the water, as well as all types of lodging, various restaurants and even shopping — all located just steps from the water’s edge.

“Bass Lake Chamber businesses have gotten together to have an ‘open house’ around the lake,” says Rhonda Salisbury, CEO of Visit Yosemite Madera County. “Visit Yosemite Madera County is thrilled to support this great event and celebration. In particular since the water is back which hasn’t been the case for years, this is good reason to come and celebrate with us. It’s the second happiest place on earth! You’ll find friendly people and great food.”

Visitors can enjoy shopping, live music, lake cruises, great food, beer and wine, games and a poker run.

Miller’s Landing will be rockin’ out to the sounds of local band Rock Therapy, and The Forks Resort, Bass Lake Water Sports and South Gate Brewing Company will also be participating in what is sure to be a fantastic day on the lake.
