Badgers Youth Football Plans Chili Cook-Off

OAKHURST – Yosemite Badgers Youth Football players, parents and coaches are trying something new this year and they’re thinking it will be really, really hot.

The community is invited to join the Badgers for their “1st Annual Chili Cook-Off,” slated for Saturday, May 17 at the Oakhurst Community Center.

Registration starts at 8 a.m. and chili tasting is from noon to 3 p.m. Beer and wine will be served up, and there will be live musical entertainment.

Tickets to attend are $10 for adults and $5 for children age 6 – 12. Kids 5 and under get in free.

To register your most delicious, absolutely-can’t-miss, soon to be award-winning chili, costs $40. Anyone is welcome to come and cook. Sign-ups are ongoing, and restaurants are welcome in their special division.

The Chili Cook-Off is a fundraising event for Yosemite Badgers Youth Football, and includes a silent auction, followed by an awards ceremony at 3 p.m.

Former YHS football player Sean Houston, now relocated to Miami, will return to Oakhurst with an armful of celebrity swag courtesy of his company, Sinbad Sports Memorabilia.

All proceeds of the day’s event will go towards the purchase of new equipment for the youth football players.
