OAKHURST — Badgers baseball continued their great season for a bit longer this week, says Yosemite High School athletic director Rusty Oetinger, and hopes are that today’s game at Monache  High School in Porterville will follow suit.

“Coached by James Gillespy, the Badgers went to #4 Dos Palos as the 13th seed in the D-4 playoff Bracket,” says Oetinger. “The Badgers have had a strong record throughout the year, but finished with a three game losing streak that left them a little down.

“Coach Gillespy has been really proud of his team this year, because of how resilient they are as a team. They have always bounced back after losing a few games in a row. The Badgers definitely did that in Dos Palos. They upset the Broncos by winning a Barn Burner. The final score was 19 to 18 and went two extra innings with the Badgers winning in the 9th.”

The Badgers will now travel to Monache on Friday, May 10 to play the 5th ranked team in the bracket, shares Oetinger, and they are looking forward to the road trip.
