Mopup Continues On Courtney Fire

OAKHURST – Crews made excellent progress on the Courtney Fire overnight, holding it at 320 acres and achieving 40% containment. There is a line around the entire fire, including hose lays, but the containment estimate includes only those lines that are deemed to be totally secure.

Fire Engines In Major Crash On Highway 41

FRESNO – A strike team of Cal Fire engines reportedly heading home from the Courtney Fire today had their trip interrupted when two of the engines were involved in a major collision on Highway 41 near Shaw Avenue. Meadow Fire Now 80% Contained

YOSEMITE – The Meadow Fire, burning in the backcountry of Yosemite National Park is now 4,772 acres and 80% contained. All roads and visitor facilities in the park remain open. There are currently 328 personnel assigned to the incident and two injuries have been reported. Estimated date for containment is Sept. 21. The suppressions costs to date are $4.9 million.

Courtney Fire Update 10AM Monday

OAKHURST – The scene in the Bass Lake Heights neighborhood is one of devastation after the Courtney Fire roared through Sunday afternoon. The 320-acre blaze moved quickly through the narrow streets of Pine, Oak, Cedar, Manzanita and Balsam Drives, and along Road 426 as it raced toward Bass Lake, destroying 21 structures.

Courtney Fire Devastates Neighborhood

OAKHURST – The Courtney Fire, which started on Sunday, Sept. 14, at 1:36 p.m. has now burned over 320 acres with an estimated 20% containment. The fire started on Courtney Lane, just off Road 426, and quickly spread north and east, racing through the tinder-dry grass and brush toward the Bass Lake Heights neighborhood at the top of Road 426.
