Manhunt Causes Lockdown At Coarsegold Elementary

COARSEGOLD – The Coarsegold school was locked down this afternoon from shortly after 3 p.m. until about 4:45 p.m. while a manhunt was underway for George Walter Rosenberg, 41, of Mariposa. Oakhurst Women Plead Guilty To Attempted Carjacking

MADERA – Jessica Tancredi, 18, and Channa Hammond, 18, both of Oakhurst, pled guilty yesterday, Jan. 17, to felony attempted carjacking with special allegations for using deadly weapons. Drunk Driver Gets 35 Years To Life

MADERA – A drunk driver who killed two Madera women and seriously injured another passenger, was sentenced today to 35 years to life in state prison. Richard Farias, 57, of Madera, was sentenced on Wednesday, Jan.16, for his conviction on two felony counts of gross vehicular manslaughter, and a separate felony count of driving under the influence and injuring another.
