CALIFORNIA – The California Highway Patrol has announced an open statewide examination for the position of Custodian. With the new CHP facility in Oakhurst, the local office may be hiring soon, so anyone interested in the position would need to have taken this exam to be on the eligibility list.

MARIPOSA COUNTY – The Merced Police Department Bomb Unit was called to a scene in the Pendola Gardens area on Thursday, Mar. 13, when law enforcement received a report from a citizen about a box of possible explosive materials. The report was made at approximatly 8:45 a.m. Thursday morning, and the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate.
